-This is a basic metalsmithing class. This class will lay the foundation for learning the fundamentals of metalsmithing.

-Argentium Sterling Silver: We will cover the benefits of working with tarnish resistant Argentium Sterling Silver. Argentium is a silver alloy that is whiter and brighter than traditional sterling and can be annealed softer and hardened beyond traditional sterling.

-Bezel setting. I will also instruct students on the process of setting a cabochon using premade bezel cup and calibrated stone. Robert will offer several types of stones for students to choose from.

Class may be canceled if there are less than four students.

Airports & Lodging:If flying to California, the nearest airport is Ontario International (approx. 30 minutes from studio). LAX is 1 hour without traffic and there is always traffic in that area. The nearest hotels are in Redlands, Loma Linda and the Holiday Inn Express in Beaumont. I would recommend Redlands for proximity to post workshop entertainment and dining! I absolutely do not recommend booking any motels in Yucaipa where my studio is located.

Kit includes:

Argentium silver wire, Bezel cup, Cabochon (stone may be different from displayed or photos of original pieces), Solder.

(Students may keep all scraps of silver, kit does not include any tools to keep)

Instructor will provide the following for use in class:

Torches, soldering supplies and stations, patina, polishing supplies and all tools needed.
