Rutilated Quartz and Titanium Cuff
Rutilated Quartz and Titanium Cuff
It began with flame painting and resist layering on titanium sheet, producing muted hues of yellow, pink, and blue with subtle spray patterns. A fine mesh pattern was roller printed onto the titanium, creating a fabric-like texture. Random shiny silvery spots were then added to the surface, enhancing the visual depth.
The design was assembled and fused with nearly 100 silver components—including silver water casts, hand-faceted silver crystals, silver granules, and square, round, and half-round wires. This intricate layering results in an organic composition inspired by nature's chaotic yet controlled patterns.
At the center, a hand-set cabochon of rutilated quartz with hematite anchors the piece. The striking golden rutile inclusions create an intriguing and striking focal point, complementing the complex interplay of texture and color throughout the cuff.
