This one-of-a-kind pendant is deeply personal—a meditation on growth, resilience, and emerging from darkness into light. It is a piece about transition, healing, and coming full circle.

The composition is fabricated almost entirely from Argentium® Sterling Silver bench scraps: offcuts and remnants of previous work that have been thoughtfully arranged and permanently fused into a circular form with an open center. What were once discarded fragments have been transformed into something entirely new, reflecting the idea that beauty and purpose can emerge from unexpected places.

Throughout the pendant are fused silver granules, textured floral discs, and water-cast silver discs. The water-cast elements have been subtly faceted, preserving their organic character while allowing them to catch the light. At the opposite end of the circle rises a hand-built crystalline silver formation, representing growth and transformation.

The surface itself tells a story. The crystal formation and floral elements are polished to a brilliant white finish that gradually transitions into soft gray before deepening into darker tones as the composition flows toward the water-cast silver. This deliberate progression symbolizes a journey from darkness toward light—from uncertainty toward hope.

Crowning the crystalline formation is a hand-fabricated bezel setting holding a luminous opal. Its creamy yellow body glows with vibrant flashes of fiery orange, red, green, and subtle blue, becoming the visual and symbolic culmination of the piece. The opal represents the light that emerges after hardship—the spark that remains even in difficult times.

To me, the crystals symbolize personal growth, the flowers represent renewal, the circle speaks of life’s continual cycles, and the opal embodies hope and inner fire. This pendant reflects many of the challenges and lessons I experienced over the past year. It is a reminder that growth often begins in our darkest places, and that with perseverance, we eventually find our way back into the light.

Chaotic yet composed, organic yet intentional, every surface has been individually fused, textured, and finished by hand. Like a symphony, the varied textures and forms work together to create harmony from complexity.
