Elk Antler, Kingman Turquoise & Argentium® Silver Pendant
Elk Antler, Kingman Turquoise & Argentium® Silver Pendant
This one-of-a-kind pendant brings together rare natural materials and hand-fabricated metalwork in a bold, sculptural composition.
The centerpiece is a light brown elk antler that has been carefully shaped, with its lower end faceted and polished to resemble a naturally formed crystal. Inlaid Argentium® Sterling Silver discs punctuate the antler, while two post-set pink cultured pearls add subtle contrast and elegance.
Suspended above the antler is a hand-cut cabochon of rare blue-green Kingman turquoise displaying an exceptional spalted pattern. Above the stone rises a cluster of faceted Argentium® Sterling Silver crystals that I individually cut, stacked, and permanently fused together with silver granules, dust, and platelets. The result is a richly textured, crystalline form that catches light from every angle and celebrates the unique fusing capabilities of Argentium silver.
Nestled beside the silver crystal formation is a natural orange Spessartine garnet crystal, complete with tiny black manganese inclusions that highlight its untouched geological beauty.
The antler is secured with a handcrafted Argentium® Sterling Silver strap that is riveted closed, becoming both a structural element and part of the overall design.
Every component has been fabricated, textured, and assembled by hand, creating a piece that bridges the worlds of geology, nature, and contemporary metalsmithing. No two could ever be exactly alike.
