Argentium® Sterling Silver Botanical Ring

$200.00

This one-of-a-kind ring combines botanical forms, rich surface texture, and contemporary fabrication into a bold sculptural statement.

The wide shank, measuring approximately ½ inch, is hand-fabricated from Argentium® Sterling Silver sheet that has been roller printed using small cut squares of corn husk. This unusual natural material creates a distinctive organic texture that is both subtle and tactile. Heavy half-round Argentium silver wire was then permanently fused to the edges of the shank, framing the patterned surface while adding strength and visual definition.

The focal element is a sculptural floral composition created from Project X™ Silver Metal Clay. The flowers began with a silicone mold I made from blooms of my Echeveria succulent. After pressing the silver clay into the mold, the piece was fired until fully sintered into solid silver. The floral element was then soldered to a sheet of Argentium silver, and the surrounding metal was carefully sawn away to follow the silhouette of the flowers, creating an airy, organic form.

A rich dark gray patina was applied to the entire ring before the high surfaces were polished to a bright finish, leaving the darker tones nestled within the recesses. This contrast emphasizes every texture and detail, bringing the botanical forms vividly to life.

Completing the composition is a faceted cultured pearl, post-set among the flowers. Its unexpected geometry contrasts beautifully with the soft organic forms, adding light, sparkle, and an element of surprise.

Every texture, surface, and detail has been handcrafted, resulting in a ring that celebrates the intersection of nature and contemporary metalsmithing.
