-Roller printing a pattern on the silver to give it more texture.

-Argentium Sterling Silver: We will cover the benefits of working with tarnish resistant Argentium Sterling Silver. Argentium is a silver alloy that is whiter and brighter than traditional sterling and can be annealed softer and hardened beyond traditional sterling.  We will be fusing Argentium silver granules, and wire enabling us to cut back on solder joints.

-Water casting.  A demonstration will be provided instructing students on the basics of making water cast using scrap silver. The cups and disc formed during the demonstration will be used by students on project pieces.

-Bezel setting. I will also instruct students on the process and benefits of constructing a thick wall bezel with notches for setting a cabochon. Robert will offer several types of stones for students to choose from.

-Granulation. Melting silver into balls used to bridge gaps with fusing techniques.

-The workshop will also cover texturing, soldering, patina, forming, bail making and finishing.

Class may be canceled if there are less than four students.
Airports & Lodging:
If flying to California, the nearest airport is Ontario International  (approx. 30 minutes from studio). LAX is 1 hour without traffic and there is always traffic in that area. The nearest hotels are in Redlands, Loma Linda and the Holiday Inn Express in Beaumont. I would recommend Redlands for proximity to post workshop entertainment and dining! I absolutely do not recommend booking any motels in Yucaipa where my studio is located.
Kit includes:
Argentium silver sheet, Argentium silver wire, Cabochon (stone may be different from displayed or photos of original pieces), Solder.
(Students may keep all scraps of silver, kit does not include any tools to keep)

Instructor will provide the following for use in class:

Torches, texturing hammers, soldering supplies and stations, rolling mill, roller printing papers, texturing materials,  patina, polishing supplies.
